Clothing & Comfort

• Modest Attire: Both Coptic Cairo and the Monastery of St. Simon are active religious sites. It is respectful to wear clothing that covers the shoulders and knees.
• Layering for the Caves: The Cave Church is naturally cooler than the outside air. If you are visiting during the cooler months or early morning, a light jacket or pashmina is highly recommended.
• Walking Shoes: You will be navigating uneven stone paths in the Hanging Church and potentially steep inclines at the Mokattam Mountain. Closed-toe, supportive shoes are a must.
